This includes meeting all federal, state & local monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance requirements. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities): 1. Member of the Avangrid Senior Tax leadership team, responsible to assist in the development of overall Corporate Tax Strategies, Risk Management and Talent Development. 2. Establish and maintain Tax Accounting & Reporting processes and procedures for income taxes to ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements (including SEC reporting) and with federal, state & local monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance requirements. Direct the tax staff assigned to this activity. 3. Continuously improve reporting and compliance processes and responsible for internal controls over these processes. 4. Direct all income tax accounting research for new GAAP and IFRS accounting guidance, new business transactions, etc. and prepare associated documentation memos. 5. Responsible for the growth and development of tax staff. 6. Develop tax accounting strategies to optimize earnings. 7. Act as primary Tax Department contact with Avangrid Renewable. business leads and Controllers/Finance teams related to tax accounting requirements. 8. Responsible for Tax Accounting and Reporting of all significant transactions and assessment of tax risks. 9. Responsible for effective management of tax risks and direct staff in support of tax audits and examinations related to the Renewables business. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience required. Masters in Taxation, Law Degree and/or CPA preferred. Experience in the Renewables business preferred.
