Responsibilities: · Working alongside Project Manager, and independently as needed, to coordinate field and office tasks on civil design projects such as water, wastewater, transportation, drainage and commercial and residential land development as well as pipeline projects, utility projects, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys. · Layout site based on survey, architectural drawings, and local codes. · Develop, implement, and deploy CAD standards on a departmental level · Prepare complete construction documents including anticipating project needs and deliverables. · Organize, maintain and process original plans, computerized data, field data files and notes on a daily basis · Create project base files and compile field work, deed sketches, create DTM's · QA/QC deliverables · Create exhibits and reports for Project Managers · Prepare working sketches and pertinent field data for field crews Qualifications: · Minimum 2 yrs experience as Civil Technician on civil projects including land development, utilities, streets, grading, etc. · Experience with earthwork calculations, drainage design, construction cost estimating, and street design. · Proficient in processing GPS and raw field data, line codes, interpret field notes and sketches · Ability to create working sketches from deed and easement descriptions, develop working drawings for civil site plans (grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches. · Experience with development of plan and profile drawings with an understanding of page layout and the use of exaggerated vertical scale. · Working knowledge of 3D surfaces with ability to interpret break lines, create DTMs, generate contours and cut/fill quantities · Proficient in understanding construction plans with ability to create staking files for field crews · Must be a self-motivated problem solver with strong analytic skills and the ability to meet deadlines with deliverables that exceed minimum requirements specified by governing body and client, geared for fast paced environment yet have attention to detail · Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office · Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills Preferred · Two or more years of civil design experience.
